Omaha

The Henry Doorly Zoo is not in Siouxland, but I had to mention it anyway, because it is one of the best zoos in the entire country. If you have time to make the 2 hour drive south of Sioux City and spend the day there, you won't regret it!

Also near Omaha is the Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park & Wildlife Safari, an immersive (mostly) open park full of North American animals like bison, deer, elk, prairie dogs, wolves, pelican, and more! Visitors can drive through the park or go for a hike to enjoy the natural beauty, or enjoy farm animals in the Hands-On Corral!

For medical information on COVID-19, please visit the CDC's coronavirus page or Mayo Clinic coronavirus page
Wow, a lot has changed since I first posted this! When I first started this post, the nearest outbreak of COVID-19 was one family in Omaha! I did a major update on this post in June 2020 and a small update in July 2020, and it will now reflect what is re-opening in our area! I will try to keep it up to date, so check back for updates, but I do not run any of these organizations, and I encourage you to seek out their individual websites and social media to confirm closings that af…
