Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour Swimming into Sioux City!

A brand-new show is making its way towards Siouxland, and it's definitely going to make a splash! Thank you to the production company, Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group for sponsoring this post and for bringing this great show to Siouxland! Here's what parents, grandparents, and others considering buying tickets to Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour should know:

Baby Shark and friends are making a splash in Sioux City at 10am on February 3rd

What is Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour?

Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour is a brand-new live stage production bringing the kid-favorite characters from the Pinkfong YouTube Channel to theaters across the US, starting in the Midwest! The plot is a kid-friendly take on a classic trope: to save their beloved Party Puddle Theatre, Baby Shark and his friends have to put on a spectacular show. But can they pull it off?

All ages are welcome at Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour at the Sioux City Orpheum Theatre, but its most ideal for kids ages 1 to 6. Everyone 1+ requires their own ticket.

When is Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour coming to Sioux City?

Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour is coming to Sioux City at 10am on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024. Doors open at 9am. The show lasts 65 minutes, plus a 15-minute intermission about halfway through.

Baby Shark's Fintastic Photo Op

Superfans can't miss the Fintastic Photo Op before the show! From 9am to 9:30am, audience members who purchase the Baby Shark Fintastic Photo Op tickets will get to attend an exclusive pre-show experience (including a surprise treat!)

Where will Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour be in Sioux City?

Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour will be performed live on the stage of the historic Sioux City Orpheum Theatre. There is free street parking in downtown Sioux City on weekends, and there are several parking ramps nearby as well.

One thing that I think is really fun and can maybe enhance the experience for Sioux City audience members is knowing that we did save the Orpheum. It was built in 1927 as part of the "Orpheum Circuit" and was home to big extravagant shows and stars in the early 1900s. But eventually, its popularity waned, and it was changed into a movie theater in the 1970s with much of the beautiful art and architecture covered. By 1992 it was closed to the public.

But Sioux City Orpheum fans stepped up and saved the theater--and restored it to its art deco opulence. In 2001, the Sioux City Orpheum reopened to the public and since then, has been home to great concerts, comedians, musicians, and elaborate shows for all ages, like Baby Shark's Big Broadwave Tour. Some kids might not want to know any or all of that, but if you have kids who like history and would be interested in connecting more to the story that way, let them know how the history of the Orpheum is like the Party Puddle Theater, and that by going to shows like this one, you're helping make sure our beloved theater stays open too.

The Orpheum is absolutely gorgeous, so feel free to dress up fancy if that's fun for you, but also, no pressure! I've been to a few shows there now and everything from jeans and a t-shirt to princess ballgowns were worn and were not out of place! Wear what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable. With the theme of this show, outfits with a shark or ocean vibe or classic Broadway vibe like top hats and bowties seem especially appropriate.

Little Chicago Deli is coming back to Sioux City!

Sioux City's newest eatery isn't actually new--it's just the newest iteration of a classic! Little Chicago Deli is opening in a new location just a couple doors down from the original restaurant, and they're opening on Friday May 31, 2024, for pickup orders and delivery, with the dining lobby opening later in summer 2024. Here's the info we have so far on Sioux City's new Little Chicago Deli: History of Little Chicago Deli Little Chicago Deli has been around Sioux City since 1988 as a locally owned sandwich shop, but unfortunately the previous location closed in 2017. Prior to that, I remember going there in college while I was doing an internship downtown, and I was sad to hear the original closed. But new owners, including some staff from the old Little Chicago Deli, are bringing it back in 2024! The name pays homage to local legends about Sioux City during Prohibition. For starters, Prohibition was widely ignored in Sioux City...
