Four things to look forward to in Sioux City in 2024 (+ Giveaway!!)

2023 brought tons of unique fun to Siouxland, like the opening of the riverfront park, stunning temporary museum exhibits at the Sioux City Art Center and Sioux City Public Museum, events like the Art Center's epic wonderland tea party in the spring, festive fun like the Sioux City Railroad Museum's new holiday light nights, and so much more. On Facebook, the Siouxland Family Events Group grew to almost 8,000 members, and more than 430,000 people on Facebook saw at least one of the 1,300 posts from the group! And here on SiouxlandFamilies.com, more than 37,000 unique readers checked out one or more post, especially my posts about Christmas, Fourth of July, and Pumpkin Patches.
And 2024 promises even more new fun for Sioux City and Siouxland families to enjoy. Here are four things to look forward to in 2024 in Siouxland, plus a giveaway to make it even more fun, so be sure to read all the way to the bottom to find that:

Caucuses

Whether you're glad to play a part in picking the next president or just glad the public opinion poll calls will end, the caucuses are huge and coming soon! On January 15th Iowa's Republicans will choose their nominee for the 2024 Presidential election and conduct other party business at their first in the nation caucuses. Iowa Democrats will conduct other party business on the same night but will choose their presidential nominee through a mail-in method and have through the beginning of March, so registered Democrats may have to put up with those poll calls just a bit longer. Each event is open to all registered Iowa voters who are registered as affiliated with the party holding that caucus, and you can find your caucus location here if you are a Republican and here if you are a Democrat.

Mountain Biking at Cone Park

Construction is currently underway for a spectacular new mountain bike park at Cone Park. The mountain bike courses and other mountain bike training features coming soon to Cone Park will be perfect for everyone from newbies and kids to experienced riders. And use of the mountain bike park at Cone Park will be FREE and open to the public (bike rental for a market standard rate will also be available, but not required.) Construction started in 2023 and is already looking exciting. As of the holiday season, the plan is for all the mountain biking fun at Cone Park to open in May or June of 2024!

Crumb.

I'm definitely a fan of this local bakery known for their delicious fare at the Sioux City Farmer's Market and other special events. And in 2024 they're opening up next door to the Art SUX Gallery, providing them with a much-needed permanent storefront to call home. Their official address will be 515 Fourth Street in historic downtown Sioux City, and I will be sure to post more when they are open with regular hours. For now, watch for holiday pop-ups from them. Tastebuds rejoice!
