Jason's Frozen Treats is Sioux City's coolest new spot!

Jason's is Sioux City's coolest new place for treats on a hot day! Here's what you should know about this cute locally owned ice cream shop near Sioux City's north side:

What is Jason's Frozen Treats?

Jason's Frozen Treats is a brand-new ice cream shop in Sioux City serving up cones and cups of delicious ice cream in a variety of flavors.

Where is Jason's Frozen Treats?

a hand painted sign says "Jason's Frozen Treats customer parking only"

Jason's Frozen Treats has two locations. The first is on the north side of Sioux, near Floyd Boulevard and the Leeds neighborhood. The official address is 1900 27th Street in Sioux City, IA and the nearest intersection is 27th and Chambers. There is a small lot with free parking available for about 8 cars, and parking on the nearby neighborhood streets is also free.

The second location is 2519 Hamilton Boulevard near Grandview Park. There is a shared lot with free parking for Jason's and the other attached businesses. This location was briefly home to a Sunkist donuts branch.

As I update this in September 2024, only the Hamilton Boulevard location is open. Owner Jason says he hopes to eventually open a couple more locations in the Sioux City area and that he is excited about sponsoring local sports teams and being activity in the community as a youth mentor.
I'll be sure to add those other locations here too once they're opened!

Jason's Frozen Treats on 27th Street

The Jason's Frozen Treats location on 27th Street is bright blue and gives off such cheerful snack shack vibes. The building itself is quite small, with a walk-up ordering window, a walk-up pick-up window, and a door for employees only. There is no seating inside, but there's an adorable area on the west side of the building with artificial grass and picnic tables, including two full size picnic tables with huge umbrellas that provide great shade and two cute little tables that my kids couldn't resist and I'm sure other kids will love too. Here's a peek at my visit there in September of 2023:
When I went, the employees were polite and hardworking and got us our ice cream very quickly. We just got cones so I can't comment on the bowls, but I was happy with the size of the cones for the price we paid.
The building itself is very eye catching, with cheery bright blue paint and a cute, hand-painted mural of a cone topped with light green ice cream.
And most importantly, our ice cream tasted GREAT! I got an ice cream coffee with brownie chunks in it which was amazing.
My sons tried caramel pirate, which was described as tasting like the inside of a 3 musketeers bar, and with hidden treasure in the form of cookie and candy bits! They loved it.
They also tried orange creamsicle, and I tried a bit too, and it was so good. I might order this next time for myself.
And my daughter tried mint chip and declared it awesome.

Overall, it was as successful as a trip to an ice cream spot can be!

Jason's Frozen Treats on Hamilton

The Hamilton Boulevard location of Jason's is so cool! It includes a drive-through window, which is super tempting right after school pickup, and it has indoor seating too! The interior is decorated in vibrant colors that really make you feel like you're somewhere very FUN. My kids and I have tried several different flavors, and so far they are all excellent. Some of our favorites have been strawberry, peach, cookie dough, mint chip, pirate's treasure, and a banana flavor!

    1. Hi, could you elaborate? Because this is entirely true based on my own experience stopping with my own kids for some ice cream, but if I somehow got something wrong I'd love to hear about it so I can fix it!
