Sergeant Bluff Pioneer Valley Days

Sergeant Bluff is hosting their 42nd annual Pioneer Days festival on August 10-13th 2017 at the Sergeant Bluff Rec Complex (unless otherwise noted). Some of the fun you can expect to find includes

Thurs 8/10:
6:30pm Prince and Princess Contest at Community Center (winners and runners up get to ride in parade Saturday and all participants receive a prize)

Fri 8/11
9am Pickleball Tournament ($10 per person)
7pm Big wheels race for ages 4-10 (free)
7pm Petting zoo (free)
9pm/Dusk Drive In Movie: Beauty and the Beast (free)

Sat 8/12
7:30am 5k Race ($25)
8am 27 mile bike race ($20 for adults, $15 for kids)
10am Parade (free)
11am Small business fair
11am-6pm live music
11am Backyard BBQ Bash ($5 for taste test card)
11am 3-on-3 Soccer Tournament for high school and older ($40 per team)
11:30am Wiffleball tournament for 3rd-8th graders ($50 per 5 player team)
11:30 Co-ed Volleyball tournament ($80 per team)
11:30am Bags tournament ($30 per two person team)
11:30am Horseshoes tournament ($10 per player)
noon-4pm Family Fun day

Sun 8/13
9:30am table tennis tournament at community center ($10 per person)
noon Kickball tournament  for ages 11 and up ($100 per 8-10 person team)
1-3pm Pie Baking Contest and entertainment at Baker Museum, open to all ages)

The Ranch KC offers family-friendly KC BBQ in Belton, MO

UPDATE: The Ranch KC closed in spring 2026. I am leaving my review up for now in case people are still curious about what it was like. You can check out more of my KC faves here. On a recent trip to Kansas City, I had the opportunity to visit a new restaurant, The Ranch KC, and I was so impressed I wanted to share about it with all of you! My former hometown of Kansas City is one of my favorite travel destinations, not just because I love seeing my family and friends there, but also because there are great places to play, shop, eat, and explore. And The Ranch KC is definitely going on my list of great little places to eat in the KC area for future trips too!
