Looking for things to do in Sioux City? Every month I list family-friendly events in Siouxland, from storytimes to craft events and concerts, along with a few holidays from serious to silly! I'll update throughout the month as new events and details are released.     • 10am-noon: Kids Days: Valentine's Crafts and scavenger hunt at the Sioux City Public Museum. Scavenger hunt is in the museum, while the craft kits are to take home and make whenever you want, and you can do either or both. FREE, but with limited quantities.

    • 10am: Knee High Naturalists at Hillview Recreation Area in Hinton for preschoolers with a parent or other adult caregiver, $3 per child, call (712)947-4270 to sign-up!
    • OAKS nature learning event at Hillview Recreation Area in Hinton, for early elementary age kids, call (712)947-4270 to sign-up or for more info on the event series!
    • 2pm: Waiting for Warmer Weather kids online learning event, hosted by the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center
    • 3:30pm: 5k Snowshoe Hike at Hillview Recreation Area in Hinton, $5 for snowshoe rental while available, must call (712)947-4270 to sign-up!

    • 12:30pm: Cardboard Sled Races at Cone Park
    • 2pm: Songs Everybody Knows musical performance streamed live by the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center
    • 2-4pm: Ice Fishing for Kids at River's Bend near Akron with Plymouth County Conservation, FREE and all ages welcome (not a drop-off event; parents should plan to stay with child.) Ages 16+ must have valid Iowa fishing license to fish. Limited amounts of bait, snacks, poles, and ice shacks will be available, but bring your own if you have it to ensure there's enough for everyone! Call (712)947-4270 to sign-up!

Now updated for 2021! One of the best parts of living right in the middle of some of the world's best farmland is access to amazing pumpkin patches! Here are some of the great pumpkin patches within a 2 hour drive from downtown Sioux City, listed by distance from downtown Sioux City. Summer Day Camps for Kids in Sioux City

Ready to plan your 2021 summer fun? Here are all the summer day camp opportunities I have found in the Sioux City area for this year, in alphabetical order. I'll put the basic info here and link to the host's website or Facebook page where you can find more details. This page will be updated throughout spring and summer 2021 as new day camps in the Sioux City area are announced. If covid-19 related closures are extended, I will try to reach out to as many of the hosting organizations as I can for an update on their plans, but I also encourage you to ask them directly if it is a concern for you as they will have the most up-to-date information.
