July Events for Kids and Families in Siouxland

Every month I bring you the best things to do in Sioux City and Siouxland, from storytimes and crafts to music festivals, streaming concerts, and holidays from silly to serious. This month, some of the highlights include Fourth of July, Saturday in the Park, and tons of summer fun! Things to do in Sioux City and Siouxland the First Week of July 2025

  • Tues 7/1
  • Weds 7/2
    • 8am to 1pm: Sioux City Farmers Market in the Farmers Market lot west of the Tyson.
    • 9am: Barnyard Buddies at Adams Homestead & Nature Preserve. Family program for all ages. Bring boots and clothes you can get muddy in! More information here.
    • 10am to 1pm: Meet the Animals, + SDSU Ice Cream Truck at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center with Woodbury County Conservation. Meeting the animals is completely free; ice cream is not free but purchases made help support the nature center. Open-House style event so come and leave when you'd like.
    • 10am: Perler Bead Club at the South Sioux City Public Library. More information here.
    • 10:30am: Library Storytime at the Morningside branch. More information available here.
    • 1:30pm: We Are America- Patriotic Music Show by the Dove-award-nominated, Gospel-singing, local family, the Browns at their Century Theater in Le Mars, IA (meal available before the show starting at noon)
    • 1:30pm: Teen Time at the South Sioux City Public Library. More information here.
    • 7:05pm: Sioux City Explorers baseball home gameTickets and more information available here.

    • 10am: Play in the Park at Little Sioux Park in Correctionville, IA with Woodbury County Conservation
    • 2pm: Legos at the Library at the Morningside branch of the Sioux City Public Library. More information available here.
    • 2pm: Level Up for high school students, at the South Sioux City Public Library. More information here.
    • 4:30pm: Dungeons & Donna kids tabletop gaming at the South Sioux City Public Library. More information here.
    • 7pm: We Are America- Patriotic Music Show by the Dove-award-nominated, Gospel-singing, local family Browns at their Century Theater in Le Mars, IA (meal available before the show starting at 5:30pm)
    • 7:05pm: Sioux City Explorers baseball home game with fireworks to follow. Tickets and more information available here.
  • Fri 7/4
    • Happy Fourth of July!
    • 7 to 10pm: Downtown Live! on the lawn of the Sioux City Public Museum, $5

One of the best parts of living right in the middle of some of the world's best farmland is access to amazing pumpkin patches! Whether you're looking for simply pumpkins in a farm field, or an all-day adventure with corn mazes, hayrides, apple cider donuts, and cute photo opps, or something in between, Siouxland probably has your type of pumpkin patch! Halloween in Sioux City & Siouxland

Happy Halloween! I originally posted this list in 2020 and it is now updated with 2024 details. I'll keep updating it throughout October as I hear of more events and details. We've got everything from kid-friendly trunk-or-treat events and craft projects to a possibly-haunted former asylum that will terrify even teens.
