Humpty's Great Fall is the must-have picture book this autumn!

I was sent a surprise review copy of Humpty's Great Fall as part of the Amazon Publishing Creator Program, which was so fun. But even more fun than just getting a cute new book I hadn't been expecting was how much my kids loved it. Humpty's Great Fall is a fully illustrated, 40-page picture book all about everyone's favorite nursery-rhyme egg enjoying autumnal fun. Here's my full review of why Humpty's Great Fall is a kids' must-read for autumn 2025.

Who created Humpty's Great Fall?

Humpty's Great Fall is written by Amy Moore, who is also known for her picture book The Bakers Dozen (Sleeping Bear Press, 2025). You can follow Moore on Instagram as @theDailyBookmark.
Humpty's Great Fall is illustrated by Josh Cleland, an artist and illustrator of more than a dozen books including Tad, The Gnome in My Garden, and Banana Hunt plus titles for Usborne, Highlights, and other big names in publishing. You can follow Cleland and his cheerful, colorful works for children on his website.
Humpty's Great Fall was released in August 2025, published by Two Lions press, an Amazon imprint.

Inside Humpty's Great Fall

Humpty's Great Fall follows everyone's famous egg, but with a silly twist on the classic rhyme. In this book, there are no unfortunate tumbles taken from tall walls, just a lot of autumnal fun that kids love! My kids giggled a LOT reading this book, and I thought it was adorable too. 

Humpty enjoys apple cider, bakes pie, and jumps in piles of leaves. And he does it all with his friends, who are also beloved nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters, like Little Miss Muffet, Jack, Jill, and Bo Peep.

It also led to some great conversations with my kids about our own favorite fall traditions and which ones we want to make sure to do this fall. I think as the weather turns cool this year, this book is going to be so perfect for cozy, cute fall vibes and discussions of fall traditions with kids. I think it's perfect for home or the classroom. I think this would also be a great book for local pumpkin patches to consider carrying in their gift shops.
