Where is Acme Comics
Acme Comics is located at 1622 Pierce Street, just north of downtown Sioux City. There is free parking in Acme's lot and on both Pierce and 17th streets. The store is painted in a steely blue reminiscent of a cityscape from a comic book and looks awesome.
Unfortunately, the doors are pretty heavy and tricky to navigate with a stroller, and I'd imagine the same would be true for wheelchairs and walkers. Definitely bring a friend if you're visiting with a mobility aid or call the store for assistance. Everyone I've talked to there (usually Fran, who is one of the owners!) has been very kind and helpful when we have visited. The store is pretty crowded with cases of collectibles and racks of comic books inside too, so you may also not be able to easily access all parts of the store with a stroller or wheelchair, but again the Acme staff is always ready to help.
There is also an Acme Comics in Greensboro, North Carolina. which is probably also a lovely shop but is not affiliated with Sioux City's Acme Comics & Collectibles.
Acme carries cards, dice, figurines and miniatures, and other essential items for a variety of tabletop and card games. They often host gaming nights for Magic the Gathering and Disney Lorcana.
Acme carries tons of collectibles including Funko Pops, plush, keychains, and more unique items. Keep an eye on their social media or stop by to see the latest items they carry!
Acme Comics is a UPS drop point, which is awesome. I had to return a dress recently that didn't fit my daughter, and the store it was from did their returns through UPS. So my choices for places to ship it back were basically the UPS store all the way over by Best Buy, or Acme Comics which was like 2 minutes from another place near downtown I was already going to be at. So, it saved me a ton of time and driving, and my kids had a blast looking at all the fun things they wanted. I really appreciate Acme offering that option

Acme has a huge variety of comic books and graphic novels, including new comics every Wednesday, and a large section of older comic books, including some rare and collectible editions. They carry all the big brands like DC, Marvel, and Image, as well as more niche products.

Fandom fun at Acme Comics & Collectibles in Sioux City
As a mom I really appreciate that they have options for such a wide variety of fandoms. While my boys have both enjoyed over the years many franchises that are more stereotypically carried by a comic book store like superheroes, Star Wars, G.I. Joe, TMNT, etc, my girls have been more into Disney, princesses, My Little Pony, and Care Bears. While Acme doesn't always have items for all of those fandoms at the same time, over the years we have found items from each of them there. On our most recent visit, my older daughter was most excited about a Disney Descendants chapter book and noticed a KPop Demon Hunters display that she said her friends would be super excited about. And my preschooler was a huge fan of all the Disney plush and was delighted that I let her buy a Little Golden Book about Aladdin and Jasmine.

Acme Comics is known for hosting high quality events, including weekly Magic the Gathering play sessions. They participate in Free Comic Book Day every May and typically have a huge event for that, with not just free comics but also costumed characters and lots of other celebratory fun. Acme also usually does a comic book giveaway day near Halloween each fall, and they host special visits and signings from actors, voice actors, comic book artists, and others involved in the world of the great fandoms they feature. I find the Acme Comics Facebook page the best way to keep up with the events hosted at Acme Comics.
Acme also sometimes participates in events hosted by others, such as local, regional, and national comic conventions, so don't be surprised if you discover them at an event you attend someday!
