September Events in Siouxland for Kids and Families

Every month I bring you the best things to do in Sioux City and Siouxland, from storytimes and crafts to music festivals, streaming concerts, and holidays from silly to serious. This month, some of the highlights include Art Splash and the openings of local sunflower farms, apple orchards, and pumpkin patches!  I hope this event list inspires you to go make some happy memories with your family this month!

    • 9:30am: Soap Carving at Ponca State Park in Ponca, NE
    • 10am: Popsicles in the Park at Miracle Field hosted by MOPS (you are not required to join MOPS to attend this event, but this *is* an informational event for them

    • 2-8pm: Iowa PBS Iconic Iowa photo exhibition reception at the downtown branch of the Sioux City Public Library
    • 5-6:30pm: Iconic Iowa Traveling Photo Exhibit reception at the downtown branch of the Sioux City Public Library, in partnership with Iowa PBS. I submitted a photo for this and was notified it will be displayed, so go check it out! 
    • 5:30pm: Sioux City's Unsolved Crimes presentation with Sarah Enright from the Sioux City Public Library, at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center

    • 11am: Sensory Sensitive Showing of Paw Patrol the Movie at the Promenade theater
    • 1pm: Ballet Folklorico presentation for kids in grades K-3 at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center
    • 2:30pm: Ballet Folklorico presentation for kids in grades 4-6 at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center
    • 7:30pm: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back film playing with original vocal and sound effect tracks but with the instrumental music replaced by a live musical performance of the original score by the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra
