February Events for Siouxland Kids & Families

Every month I bring you the best things to do in Sioux City and Siouxland, from storytimes and crafts to music festivals, streaming concerts, and holidays from silly to serious.     • National Dark Chocolate Day (celebrate by buying some dark chocolate candies from Palmer's!)

    • 10:30am: Once Upon an Artist at the Le Mars Art Center for ages 3 to 7, $10 per child, which includes an art project, a snack, and storytime

    • 11am: Snakes on the Plains nature education event at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center with live snakes (limited to 100 people and registration required. Registration opens 2/1/24)

    • 10am -2pm: Gathering Seeds creative hang at Art SUX which means everyone is invited to bring their own artwork in progress to come work on it. No supplies are provided, no age limit, but all attendees must be able to be respectful towards other artists pieces, which may be at delicate stages!
    • 1-2pm: Kids Book Club at Outside of a Dog Books & Games in Vermillion, $20 (includes book itself and all the book club fun) 
    • 2pm: The Great Denver Railroad Scam and Tracks presented by REACH Youth Theatre at Briar Cliff University
    • 2pm: Easter Surprises: Bunnies, Eggs, Lilies, and Religion historical lecture with Dr. Bruce Forbes live at the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, FREE
    • 3pm: Pale Blue Dot live concert by the All-America Concert Band at Morningside University's Eppley Auditorium
